QIO supports the City of Fermont in strengthening fire safety
Last week, the City of Fermont held an event to mark the signing of partnership agreements in the area of fire safety. In the presence of the Mayor and municipal representatives, the Fermont Fire Department officially confirmed its mutual aid agreements with the QIO and ArcelorMittal fire brigades.
The fact that QIO was the first organization to sign such an agreement with the City of Fermont reflects our commitment to supporting the Fermont community and the importance we place on joining forces, both in times of celebration and when emergency situations arise.
In concrete terms, QIO has taken part in the annual reviews of emergency response plans and contributed to simulation exercises. When needed, the Fermont Fire Department will continue to be able to rely on our qualified personnel, specialized equipment, and technical expertise.
For the City, these partnerships represent a key lever in ensuring a rapid, coordinated, and effective response, particularly in a northern context where challenges are unique and resources can sometimes be limited.
QIO is proud to contribute to this collective effort to strengthen community safety.
